As I entered the doors of ASB Showgrounds, sounds of murmuring greeted me. I glanced at all the education booths and the fantastic equipment.
We all scattered in different directions, mostly to the ones that looked interesting. I went to the NAVY booth in the truck.
There were bright, yellow chairs where you sit and watch how the NAVY or ARMY camouflage themselves in the green coloured material which looks like vines.
The thing that caught my eyes were a makeup stall where scratches, scars, and cuts came to life. It was like real red blood on your face, skin blasting off and your flesh showing. It was spooky.
There was a photo booth. It had hats and glasses where you put on and take great, colossal pictures with it.
The thing that blew me and which was my favourite was going to the St John Organization Team, where you learn how to do CPR. When I put on the gloves and started, I felt like I was a doctor at Shortland Street Hospital saving a life.
From the Careers Expo, I learned how to get into the Navy. It looked hard doing all of those action.
I realized that you need to work hard and never give up no matter how hard things are.

A very exciting and interesting Careers Expo day for most of the Year 8’s especially with the presence of various organisations and education providers like AUT.
It is hoped that the children made use of the information that was available to help guide their pathways to the future.
