RECOUNT WRITING:
Our Trip to Te Pane O Mataoho
On Monday 18th March 2019 Room 17, Room 13 and my class went to Mangere Mountain to learn about the things in the mountain that happened in the past.
When we arrived at Te Pane O Mataoho, we walked slowly inside and sat quietly on the soft mat. A girl from the Samoan Unit did a short prayer. It was nice to start the day with a prayer.
Next, we had a morning break for 25 minutes and it was great to sit and talk while eating. I ate half of my lunch during the morning tea time. My friend and I were planning to walk together.
After the morning tea we went up the mountain. Tom the mountain tour guide told us about stuffs that happened in the past. Most of us enjoyed walking around the mountain. “ It was time for us to return back,” he said. Then we all made our way to the bottom of the mountain.
Finally, we arrived back. We had our lunch before Manu from our class delivered a thank you speech in Tongan. Then the boys did the haka like the All Blacks haka. The people who are looking after the mountain were enjoying our haka.
I felt happy because I enjoyed going there. I love to go there with my family.
