Room 20 students have been learning addition, subtraction and multiplication processes since Week 1 of this term. They are expected to solve number problems using strategies such as counting forward, counting backward and repeated addition. In some cases, they use concrete materials such as counters, beans and sticks while discussing about what the answers are.
These students love working in groups. They solve the problems collaboratively. They proudly present their work in front of their classmates who in turn ask questions such as How did you solve your problem? What strategy did you use? How did you know it works?
It is pleasing to see the students helping and respecting one another while exploring their lessons. There is a spirit of happiness going on during the whole sessions. They think learning Maths. is very important.
