“Maths is one our favourite subjects,” according to Room 20 students. Students are actively involved and engaged in this subject. They can use simple strategies such as counting on, counting backwards, skip counting in 2’s and 5’s, and repeated addition.
They enjoy doing group word problem-solving activities. They discuss how to solve the given problems themselves using concrete materials and diagrams. Some interesting lessons they learned include the following: addition, subtraction, multiplication, fraction, patterns (Algebra), and shapes (Geometry).
Students also love doing Mathletics. Here, they can extend their mathematical knowledge by solving different challenging problems.
