Room 20 had an excellent time exploring the lessons on fraction. By group, students tried to learn and share some fraction concepts using concrete materials such as blocks, counters, sticks, charts and cards. They believed that fraction is best learned by doing.
The whole class enthusiastically used speaking frame to explain their answers. Student- in-charge asked questions such as “How many equal parts are there in a whole?” “What part of the whole is this?” “If you eat two parts of the whole cake, what fractional part is eaten?” “What fractional part is not eaten?” Each group was given time to answer such questions. it was followed by group reporting.
They had very productive sessions learning fraction.
