Have you thought of the marvelous artworks from the pacific? they are Tapa cloths. Tapa cloths are pieces of cloth with pacific pattern in relation to the specific island.

A tapa cloth  is made out of paper from the bark of a mulberry tree. The designs are made using black and brown dye. The colour and pictures represent the country’s history. each country’s design is different to one another.

Tapas are not only made for artwork, but for special occasion such as birthdays, and weddings. Tapa is also used to make masks, blankets, bedroom decorations and also costumes. It’s also used for funerals also in some islands.

Each country has it’s own way of creating tapa. some of the country’s the make Tapa Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu, Tahiti, Cook Isle., Fiji and many more.
