It is with great regret that we had to farewell Ms Cavanagh from Sutton Park School.
On Thursday 17th the school held a final assembly for her. It was an assembly full of emotions where we laughed, cried and thought back to all the good things Ms Cavanagh has done for us!
We had the presence of some Mangere principals, her best friends, the board of trustees and those who she had a working relationship with, but mainly the important guests would have been the main focus of her job, the children of SPS.
The assembly was organised and run by our school leaders! They did a great job!
Tewrin and Tamale were the MC’s with the help of Miss K and Mr Pauli.
Each syndicate was able to present a speech, item and gift. We our kapa haka group perform, a farewell song from room 6b, Aorangi students did a sweet serenading dance, room 10 boys did an energetic sasa, school leaders performed an entertaining jump jam, Moana wow’d us with their impressive speech for Ms Cavanagh as well as the colourful and joyful performance from their tongan students. It was then finished off with the teachers item which was a video of our teachers showing a different side to our school. As Ms Cavanagh left the room 24 and 10 boys classes completed the assembly with a HAKA! It was AMAZING!
Ms Cavanagh will be leaving us to be the principal at Queenstown Primary, we wish you ALL THE BEST on your new adventure! 😆
